Coles Myer Liquor Group (CMLG) has today announced it will appoint leading market research company ACNielsen as the agent for its retail sales data.
Under this partnership, CMLG will provide ACNielsen with sales data from its Liquorland, Vintage Cellars and Theo’s businesses nationally – adding to ACNielsen’s current retail data to create the most comprehensive and relevant read of Australian liquor market sales.
In recent years ACNielsen’s dedicated liquor servicing team has built strong relationships throughout the industry, establishing itself as the preferred scan data supplier to liquor manufacturers and establishing industry currency with its best practice retail data.
“By formalising the relationship between CMLG and ACNielsen’s ScanTrack Liquor team we will gain considerable insight and bring further efficiencies to relationships with our suppliers,” says Richard Broug, General Manager Merchandise, Coles Myer Liquor Group.
“The liquor industry in Australia is undergoing unprecedented change,” says Michael Walton, Associate Director, Liquor, ACNielsen Australia. “ACNielsen is committed to ongoing development of its research in this industry to ensure its clients get the most
comprehensive information available and we see this enhanced partnership with Coles as an important step in this process.”
The CMLG / ACNielsen partnership will commence from 1 August 2005.
