Healthcare and Pharmacy

The healthcare industry in Australia faces ever increasing challenges including: the launch of generics as brands come off patent; the future role of pharmacy in supermarkets; the long term sustainability of the Pharmaceutical benefits scheme (PBS); and accessibility to new, innovative medications on the PBS.

ACNielsen has a team of healthcare researchers who are extremely passionate about the healthcare industry and the challenges that face healthcare companies. Our healthcare team has extensive experience working in the industry, including researchers who have worked for pharmaceutical companies, IMS and Government agencies.

eHealth

The role of the Internet and technology is growing in the healthcare area. This is changing the way that medical professionals interact with each other and their patients and as a result, healthcare companies are focusing more on the effectiveness of their websites, with more sophisticated and targeted websites emerging.

ACNielsen has been interviewing GPs, specialists, pharmacists and consumers for over four years to track the growing role of the Internet in healthcare.
